Movimiento por la Paz

The Balkans

The Movement for Peace -MPDL- works in Bosnia, Serbia y Kosovo through a network of local NGO crated from the existing Movement for Peace’s structure in the area. The MPDL signed a two years agreement with the AECID, which started in April 2008.

The MPDL represents the bridge between the people and the local or national institutions, giving direct legal assistance to the citizens and confronting the discriminating practices presenting the due complaints to the civil administration, the tribunals and the national and international institutions in charge for the human rights, with the intention of contributing to the democratic and rule of law recovery.

Moreover, inside the social project, our NGO hands out medicines and first necessity goods to the most vulnerable families, supports the strengthening of the little businesses and organizes occupational classes to facilitate the access to the job market and to the self employment.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina we implement a farming project in the valley of Popovo Polje, with the end to contribute to the region’s economical revitalizing and the strengthening of the commercial relations between Ravno y Trebinije, two municipalities that were in opposite camps during the conflict. The MPDL’s intervention centres on two complementary aspects: support to the irrigators community and studies production to elaborate a sustainable plan for the future development of the area.
