The Movement for Peace examines the legal and social Bosnian situation, in a joint project with OSCE

The Movement for Peace-MPDL-participates in the proposed new cross-border legal analysis released by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Sarajevo.

The study, which was formally presented in Belgrade last November, aims to analyse the degree of fulfillment of the obligations undertaken by Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia in the Sarajevo Declaration, signed in 2005.

The Movement for Peace was to review issues related to Bosnia and Herzegovina, identifying certain problems that are still waiting to be addressed. Among them, the ineffectiveness of the Asylum Act in the country, unable to resolve the legal problem of refugees who fled Kosovo. It also criticizes the legal abandonment of the population, particularly returnees and internally displaced persons, in terms of access to basic social rights such as pensions.

Similarly, the report criticizes the lack of resolution, although the restitution of property has been completed, the financial compensation for damage to property, whose estimated investment is around 1,25 billions of euros.

This project, which calls for cooperation between institutions and civil society is crucial to drafting the text of reference, as a road map, will finally resolve the legal issues related to mass population displacement caused by the wars that ravaged Yugoslavia in the 90s.

The Movement for Peace works under the agreement signed with AECID, the strengthening of civil society in the Balkans by improving the socio-economic conditions and provide legal cover to the most vulnerable populations, especially to victims of armed conflicts.
